In 2012, whilst still living in Holland, we created a Laughing Waters Farm flyer to convince our Dutch family and friends, and ourselves, that despite having no farming experience or genes, we were doing something entirely rational.

By the end of the year, Gerd, myself and our 1.5 yr old daughter had landed in South Africa and to the reality of an absolutely rundown farm. Years of incredibly hard work followed and now the farm and its plants and creatures are happy and healthy.

Now we are having more fun and know what we are doing, most of the time. With our warm-spirited team, Laughing Waters has grown into a peaceful and ecologically vibrant place.

We absolutely enjoy being able to give our visitors a wonderful experience by way of our farm cottage accommodation, our venue for workshops and special occasions and the unique activities we offer.
